Current Road Bans
Effective March 16, 2021 (ending April 6, 2021, at 9:59 pm), all Greenview gravel roads including the Forestry Trunk Road are at 75% axle weights from 9:00 am to 10:00 pm.
Effective Tuesday, April 6, 2021
At 10:00 pm the Municipal District of Greenview No. 16 will update its road bans.
All Greenview gravel roads including the Forestry Trunk Road will be at 75% axle weights 24 hours per day.
All Greenview asphalt roads will be at 100% axle weights until further notice.
Information may be found on the Greenview website at www.mdgreenview.ab.ca or by calling the 24-hour Road Ban Hotline at 780-524-6084.
Who do these bans apply to?
These restrictions generally apply to heavy loads and therefore are of greatest concern to truckers. However, if you have any questions about transporting goods or products, or if you observe any activities which have the potential of damaging a roadway, please call 780-524-7602.
How do I know which roads are banned?
All road bans will be advertised. Radio and written notifications are typically done. Most roads are not posted but bans are likely still in effect. There are a very limited number of exceptions to the bans.
The M.D. may enter into an agreement for a permit with individuals or organizations for the transportation of heavy loads during road ban conditions. This agreement is applicable only during road ban season and security usually is required. A greater focus on enforcement of bans has been initiated.
