UPDATE: The Highway 666 entrance onto Highway 40 is expected to re-open mid-day Saturday March 11, 2023, as the detour signs are removed. The traffic signals at Highway 40/Township Road 700 will also be removed on Saturday. Traffic is expected to be back to normal by Saturday late afternoon.
Effective Monday, February 20, 2023, at noon, the entrance onto Highway 40 from Highway 666 will be closed to all traffic to erect girders for the Wapiti River Bridge (Highway 40 road twinning project).
This closure will be in place for approximately 3 weeks.
During this closure, traffic signals will be in place at the intersection of Highway 40 and Township Road 700 and detour signs will be in place.
Please allow yourself extra travel time, slow down, drive with caution and obey all posted speed limit signs to keep workers and the travelling public safe.
