The Environmental Services Department has three fire hydrants in Grande Cache to repair. The goal is to have all hydrants repaired within the next couple of weeks. Each hydrant will take approximately a day to repair. Please be advised that there will be a temporary water interruption while repairs are completed between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:00 pm. While we aim to minimize the duration of the interruption, please note that the exact time for the water supply to be turned off may vary. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.

Weather pending, below are the dates and addresses that will be affected:

1. REPAIRS TO HYDRANT ON CORNER OF Hoppe Avenue across from 106 Street (NOW COMPLETED)

  • DATE: Tuesday, October 31, 2023 (between 8:00 am – 4:00 pm): The hydrant on the corner of Hoppe Avenue across from 106 Street
    • The following addresses will be affected: 10605, 10609, 10613, 10617, and 10621 Hoppe Avenue

    • Please note that today’s fire hydrant repair on the corner of Hoppe Avenue, across from 106 Street, will continue to occur tomorrow. Repairs will continue tomorrow morning beginning at 8:00 am, and the following addresses may be affected by water interruption.
    • The following addresses will be affected tomorrow (Wednesday, November 1, 2023):

    • Please note that Environmental Services is aware of the loss of water pressure and/or the loss of water in other areas of Grande Cache while the fire hydrant is being repaired on Hoppe Avenue. Once the fire hydrant repair is completed water pressure and water will return. We anticipate repairs to be completed this afternoon.     • Please be advised that the fire hydrant repair on Hoppe Avenue has now been completed. Water will be turned back, and water pressure will return to the affected homes and areas.
    • Once the water has been turned on, please flush cold taps for approximately 10 minutes until the water runs clear.

    • The Environmental Services Department has two more fire hydrants in Grande Cache to repair.
    • The next hydrant repair will take place on Thursday, November 2, 2023 (beginning at 8:00 am ) on the corner of 99 Avenue and 101 Street
    • The following addresses will be affected: 9821, 10102, 10106, 10110, 10114, 10118 – 99 Avenue & 9814, 9817, 9818, 9821, 9822, 9825, 9826, 9829, 9833 – 101 Street.
    • Please be advised that there will be a temporary water interruption (water will be turned off and/or loss of water pressure) while repairs are completed. While we aim to minimize the duration of the interruption, please note that the exact time for the water supply to be turned off may vary.
    • Once hydrant repairs are completed, please flush cold water taps until the water runs clear.
Notice update on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at 3:30 pm:
Environmental Services have been working on the fire hydrant repair on the corner of 99 Avenue and 101 Street today without needing to shut off the water so far. To complete repairs today, they must shut the water off to the below affected addresses at approximately 4:00 pm. Once the water turns back on, please run your cold taps for approximately 10 minutes or until the water runs clear. Other homes in the area may notice a change in water pressure, which will return once the water is turned back on.

    • The last fire hydrant repair will take place on Friday, November 3, 2023 beginning at 8:00 am and will continue until the hydrant has been restored to full functionality.
    • The following addresses will be affected: 9810, 9806, 9802, 9076, 9702, 10110, 10114, and 9813, 9809, 9805, 9817, 9709, 9705, 9701, 10101, 10105, 10109, 10113, 10117 – 101 Street
    • Please note that other addresses in the area may also experience a loss of water pressure as well during the repair.
    • When water is restored, please flush cold water taps for approximately 10 minutes or until water runs clear.
