TERIC Power Ltd. (TERIC) is proposing to construct the Sturgeon Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Project (the Project) and intends to apply to the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC) for a permit to install and operate the Project. The proposed project is located approximately 15 kilometers southeast of the Town of Valleyview at NW 33-68-21 W5M. The facility will consist of a 23-Megawatt (MW) capacity lithium-ion battery storage system, connected to the existing local distribution system. Once installed, the Project will be able to store electricity to be released for use at a later time by Albertans to help with high priced power which can support both grid reliability and electricity affordability. TERIC is seeking input on the proposed Project from interested stakeholders. We invite you to reach out to the proponent representative to learn more about the Project and provide your feedback.
