Fire Restriction In Effect
A FIRE RESTRICTION is in place for the Grande Prairie Forest Area, portions of the Edson Forest Area, Whitecourt Forest Area as well as Slave Lake Forest Area which covers most areas within the MD of Greenview due to hot and dry conditions, which will increase the fire danger. UPDATE: The Sunset House Water Point will be temporarily closed while Greenview crews continue working on the new raw water well in the area. This temporary closure will take place July 12-16, 2021. UPDATE: Grande Cache Sani-Dump – Water Supply Temporarily Unavailable
UPDATE: The fresh water supply has been restored. The fresh water supply at the Grande Cache Sani-Dump is temporarily unavailable. Sewer dumping and flushing capabilities are still available, but fresh water is not available at that location. To access fresh water supply, please visit the Grande Cache Tourism Centre where you can fill up outside the building.
Weyerhaeuser – 2021 Vegetation Management Approval
Weyerhaeuser Company Ltd. – Grande Prairie Operations has received approval from Alberta Agriculture & Forestry to conduct a herbicide site preparation program for the 2021 season. Update: Water Restriction Lifted – Grande Cache
UPDATE: Water Restrictions in Grande Cache have now been lifted. Greenview would like to thank all residents for their understanding. Due to the extreme heat and lack of rain, water restrictions are in place for the Hamlet of Grande Cache for non-essential water use. Water restrictions are required to ensure there is enough water available for fire protection. Greenview Cooling Centres Setup in DeBolt, Grovedale, and Grande Cache June 29 & 30
Due to the elevated temperatures forecast on June 29 and June 30, 2021, the MD of Greenview will establish Cooling Centres in DeBolt, Grovedale, and Grande Cache to help mitigate the health effects of the heatwave. These are air-conditioned facilities for general public use, bottled water will also be available.
