The following information is the latest update provided by Alberta Forestry’s Incident Command in charge of the fire. Because this is a Forestry fire, they are the lead for firefighting operations and provide Greenview with information approved by them for release.

GWF049 is located 17 km east of Valleyview and is now classified as Being Held (BH) at 48.5 hectares, with 15 mm of rain having been reported as received overnight. Structural sprinkler protection, installed by Greenview firefighters, is still in place as a precautionary measure to protect residents in proximity to the fire.

Forestry has 25 firefighters working this fire.
