Greenview Approves Gravel Crushing Proposal
The River Top Sand & Gravel Pit (SML990008) is located at NW-10-15-74-02-W5 northwest of DeBolt is at the north end of the Goodwin Road and is often referred to as the Airth Pit. AMI Rockchain/TerraShift Engineering is an approved Canoe Procurement/RMA vendor and service provider. Administration requested a proposal for engineering services and gravel crushing combined for 50,000 tonnes of crushed modified 4:25 (1 inch) spec material aggregate per year. Council accepted TerraShift Engineering’s proposal for 2021 gravel crushing at the River Top Sand & Gravel Pit in the amount of $395,440.00 with funding to come from Operations’ Road Maintenance Budget.

2021 Crushing Tender for Athabasca 3 Gravel Pit Awarded
A public tender was advertised for crushing, stockpiling, and other work to be completed at the Athabasca 3 Gravel Pit for a total of 100,000 m3 of gravel. The material to be manufactured is a 4:25 (1 inch) modified specification and is to be stockpiled on-site. The Athabasca 3 Gravel Pit (SML 060086) is located at SE-12-60-18-W5 south of Fox Creek and down HWY 749 towards the Athabasca River. Council awarded the 2021 crushing tender for the Athabasca 3 Gravel Pit to R Bee Aggregate Consulting Ltd in the amount of $769,000.00 with funding to come from Operations 2021 Road Maintenance Budget.

Carbon Sequestration Management Report Preparation to Proceed
At the Greenview Industrial Gateway Committee Meeting held September 7, 2021, the Greenview Industrial Gateway Committee made the following recommendation to Council:

That the Greenview Industrial Gateway Committee recommend that Council authorize Administration to proceed with McDaniels & Associates Consultants Ltd., Calgary, Alberta to prepare a Carbon Sequestration Management Report for an upset limit of $35,000.00.

McDaniel & Associates Consultants Ltd. has completed a preliminary report regarding opportunities for carbon sequestration and management within close proximity of the Greenview Industrial Gateway project. The report has concluded that the area is conducive to capturing large quantities of carbon in the Woodbend Formation (underground geological structure). Council authorized Administration to proceed with McDaniels & Associates Consultants Ltd to prepare a Carbon Sequestration Management Report for an upset limit of $35,000.00, with funds to come from Economic Development.

Greenview Industrial Gateway Strategic Plan Gets Council Approval
The Greenview Industrial Gateway Strategic Business Plan was recently presented to the Greenview Industrial Gateway Committee at its September 7, 2021 meeting. This living document will guide the development of the proposed area, setting specific goals and strategies, and demonstrating potential economic deliverables to Greenview. The Strategic Business Plan will identify Greenview as having a guiding strategic plan for addressing the complexities involved with the Greenview Industrial Gateway project.
