Many smaller non-profit organizations within the Municipal District of Greenview are vital to ensuring public interests are heard, and their needs are well cared for. Many of these boards and committees don’t require much time commitment. However, they do need individuals willing to be a voice to have the intentions and purpose of each group well represented.

Agriculture Service Board – 1 Vacancy
The Municipal District of Greenview No. 16’s Agricultural Service Board is appointed under the Agricultural Service Board Act of Alberta. ASB’s were first conceived by Alberta Agriculture in 1945. The intent was to have a local grassroots body to work with area agricultural producers on issues and concerns specific to that municipality. Every rural municipality in Alberta has an appointed Agricultural Service Board. The A.S.B. and agricultural department staff, under the supervision of an Agricultural Fieldman, work under the Agricultural Service Board Act, the Weed Control Act, Agricultural Pests Act, the Soil Conservation Act and the Environmental Protection and Enhancement Acts. Currently, Councillor Dave Berry, Deputy Reeve Bill Smith, and 5 appointed members are on this board.
Assessment Review Board – 1 Vacancy
The Assessment Review Board is a quasi-judicial body that hears complaints (appeals) relating to property assessments, and renders decisions based on the evidence presented. The Assessment Review Board is comprised of three citizen members and all members must receive training before hearing any appeals.
Cemetery Committee Grovedale – 1 Vacancy
The Grovedale Cemetery is one of six cemeteries within Greenview. Council has established a bylaw appointing five community members to the committee and one Councillor. The Cemetery Committees run on three-year terms, with this term ending in October 2025. Currently, Councillor Christine Schlief and 5 appointed members-at-large sit on this committee.
Cemetery Committee Little Smoky – 3 Vacancies
The Little Smoky Cemetery is one of six cemeteries within Greenview. Council has established a bylaw appointing five community members to the committee and one Councillor. The Cemetery Committees run on three-year terms, with this term ending in October 2025. Currently, Councillor Ryan Ratzlaff and 5 appointed members-at-large sit on this committee.
Grande Cache Recreation Board – 4 Vacancies
The Grande Cache Recreation board is an advisory board that will review and recommend grants and capital infrastructure plans and prepare an annual report to council on all Grande Cache recreational activities. They do not have oversight in the Grande Cache Recreation Centre, operations and maintenance they are only an advisory board to council. Currently, Councillors Duane Didow and Winston Delorme sit on this board with 5 appointed members-at-large.
Green View Family & Community Services (FCSS) – 1 Vacancy
The Green View FCSS Board is comprised of seven members; one from the Town of Valleyview Council, one Town of Valleyview resident, two Councillors from Greenview and three Greenview residents – all appointed by their respective Councils. The committee’s role is to promote Community Support Services and Programs within the Town and MD under a joint agreement. Their mandate is to provide programs that must be preventive in nature and enhance the social well-being of individuals and families through promotion or intervention strategies provided at the earliest opportunity. The Board meets on the Wednesday following the Committee of the Whole every month. Currently, Councillor Sally Rosson and Councillor Christine Schlief, with Councillor Jennifer Scott as the alternate, as well as three appointed members-at-large, sit on this Board.
Greenview Regional Multiplex Advisory Board – 2 Vacancies
The Greenview Regional Multiplex Board Terms of Reference specify that the board shall consist of seven voting members. The following is the board’s voting membership; two elected officials from Greenview Council and five members-at-large appointed by Greenview. Applications will be accepted from residents in Greenview and the incorporated Town of Valleyview. Currently, Councillor Sally Rosson, Councillor Jennifer Scott, and five appointed members sit on this board.
