MD of Greenview Council Elects New Reeve and Deputy Reeve
The Municipal District of Greenview Council is pleased to acclaim Ward 5 Councillor Dale Smith as the Reeve and elected Ward 9 Councillor Duane Didow as Deputy Reeve for the municipality at the annual organizational meeting on Monday Oct. 28, 2019.

Reeve Dale Smith’s background includes hands-on experience in the agriculture industry and a 35-year career in provincial public service as Range Agrologist for Alberta Sustainable Resources. Since retiring from the province in 2013,
he has continued to manage a family beef ranching operation in the New Fish Creek area with his wife, Judy. Reeve Smith has been a Councillor with Greenview since 2013 when he was first elected. As Councillor for Greenview’s Ward 5, New Fish Creek, Dale Smith has served on many municipal boards including the Agriculture Services Board, Family and Community Support Services, the Heart River Housing Foundation, Water North Coalition, Veterinary Services Incorporated and Smoky Applied Research and Demonstration Association (SARDA). Reeve Dale Smith holds a Degree in Agricultural Science.
“I’m looking forward to continuing to serve the Municipal District of Greenview in the position of Reeve. We have plans to carry on the excellent work accomplished by the Council in 2019 by continuing to move forward with vital improvements to Greenview infrastructure, roads, and investment in our communities. I plan to make it a priority to work as a team with Council, Administration, ratepayers and stakeholders to help move Council’s ambitious agenda forward.” Reeve Dale Smith
Deputy Reeve Duane Didow thanked Council for their confidence, saying, “I look forward to taking on this new role working alongside my fellow Councillors and administration to ensure that Greenview remains the ideal place to live, work and play.”
