The MD of Greenview (MD) has selected Invistec Consulting Ltd. to create Area Structure Plans (ASP) for the Hamlets of Ridgevalley and DeBolt, and we are looking for your feedback.
Community Workshops will be held in both locations to provide residents with an opportunity to bring forward valuable experience and understanding of what matters most in your community. Frequently Asked Questions
An Area Structure Plan (ASP) is a statutory (legally binding) document that guides and informs the orderly development of a land area.
For the Hamlet of Debolt, the ASP will establish a vision for the future of the community and will inform the MD’s decisions on future development. An ASP takes a long-range view of the hamlet and lays out critical information to support orderly and efficient future development.
The Municipal Development Plan (MDP) is the MD’s high-level statutory (legally binding) document that provides policy direction and framework to guide future land uses and policy.
An Area Structure Plan (ASP) is a statutory (legally binding) plan that provides a development strategy for a specific area, in this case, the Hamlet of DeBolt. An ASP also describes future land uses for the hamlet.
The Land Use Bylaw (LUB) assigns districts for the land within DeBolt and prescribes and regulates uses for each district.
It is important to note that an ASP will not change your current land use or prevent you from continuing to use and enjoy your property in its current state.
The creation of an ASP will allow your community to have a clear direction on how it will grow and evolve into the future. The ASP will provide a framework of compatible uses and create an environment for orderly growth in DeBolt.
Being involved as a local area resident, business owner, or visitor means you bring forward valuable experience and understanding of what matters most in your community. Contributing to the project and staying updated allows the Project Team to ensure the values and insights of the community are captured.
