Greenview to submit an application for Land Use Municipal Planner Intern
The Municipal Internship Program is Canada’s longest-running program of its kind. It supports municipalities and planning service agencies to build capacity in the municipal sector by developing recent post-secondary graduates to become future leaders in municipal government. Council believes that applying for the 2024 Land Use Planner Stream offers mutual benefits. The intern acquires essential municipal government experience, while Greenview gains valuable additional resources.
Greenview Council provides financial support for the Ridgevalley Area Maintenance
The Ridgevalley Arena sees high use, and the facility is in relatively good condition, but over the last few years, it has begun to experience mechanical failures. Most recently, the facility has been experiencing furnace issues and problems with their Zamboni. Without the much-needed repairs, services offered would significantly impact youth and families across the area. Council approved funding for $25,000.00 to complete repairs and maintenance as needed.
Grande Cache Recreation Centre Fieldhouse Design & Drafting contract awarded
On June 26, 2023, Greenview’s Recreation Department issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Grande Cache Recreation Centre Fieldhouse Design & Drafting. Administration received two acceptable proposals, which were evaluated for consideration. Council awarded the RFP to ACI Architecture Inc. for the sum of $64,8074.00 plus GST.
Greenview Council awards Ridgevalley Lagoon Desludging and Biosolids Removal Tender
The 2021 feasibility study of the Ridgevalley Lagoon revealed substantial sludge buildup in the facultative pond, accounting for 65% of the pond’s total capacity. This led to the conclusion that desludging is necessary to enhance treatment and regain capacity. On July 17, 2022, Administration issued a Request for Quotation. Only Lambourne Environmental Ltd. met the mandatory criteria of the two quotes received. Council approved their tender at a cost of $430,200.00, plus GST.
Ridgevalley Lift Station and Manhole Relining tender awarded by Greenview Council
The 2022 Ridgevalley Wastewater Lagoon Feasibility Study concluded that the current wastewater system has insufficient capacity for the current and future wastewater flows of Ridgevalley. To move forward with the expansion, several steps are required. On July 20, 2023, M2 Engineering, on behalf of Greenview, issued a Request for Quotation for the Hamlet of Ridgevalley Wastewater Collection System Lift Station Wet Well & Manhole Relining. Administration received 2 submissions, both of which met mandatory requirements. Council awarded the tender to Integral High Performance Coatings in the amount of $250,449.22 plus GST.
