Reeve Tyler Olsen and Deputy Reeve Bill Smith Re-Elected and Appointed for the Third Year
Greenview Council is pleased to announce the appointments of Ward 9 Councillor Tyler Olsen as the Reeve and Ward 8 Councillor Bill Smith as Deputy Reeve for the municipality at the annual organizational meeting on Tuesday, October 24, 2023. Tyler Olsen and Bill Smith will be serving their third terms as Reeve and Deputy Reeve respectively.

2024 7th Annual Greenview Clay Shoot
Council hosts an annual Stakeholder event, which has been the Charity Clay Shoot for the last 6 years.
The 7th Annual Greenview Charity Clay Shoot is approved by Council and scheduled to take place on Thursday, September 5, 2024. The annual event is held to improve stakeholder relations and raise funds for the five Foodbanks that serve Greenview (Fox Creek Food Bank Society, Valleyview Interfaith Food Bank, DeBolt Food Bank, Salvation Army (Grovedale), and Grande Cache Food Bank).

Bylaw 23-941 Greenview Cemetery Bylaw
Administration has merged and revised Bylaw 22-878 Grande Cache Cemetery and Bylaw 97-218 Cemetery and created Bylaw 23-941 Greenview Cemetery Bylaw. Having one Bylaw for all Greenview cemeteries provides clear direction for cemetery operators and provides consistency throughout Greenview. All cemeteries are operated by community groups apart from Grande Cache, which is operated by Greenview. Administration has met with the cemetery committees to review the previous Bylaw 97-218 and has incorporated their feedback during creation of the new bylaw. This Bylaw replaces and repeals the previous Bylaws.

Policy 3024 Emergency Alert Notification
Spring of 2023 was an active and early fire season throughout the entirety of Greenview. Fire conditions required Greenview to use the Alberta Emergency Alert system to ensure residents were informed of advisory and critical alerts in a timely manner. These alerts provided critical information to residents in the vicinity of wildfires, evacuation alerts, location of evacuation centres, and emergency routes. During its April meetings, the Emergency Advisory Committee requested Administration develops a policy for the use of the emergency alert system. Administration has developed Policy 3024 “Emergency Alert Notification” to provide direction as to when emergency alerts may be issued and who may issue emergency alerts.
