Greenview Council writes letter opposing the potential regionalization of Victims Services Units across Alberta
On July 19, 2022, an announcement was made by the Minister of Justice and Solicitor General, making recommendations for redesigning and regionalizing the current Victims Services Units throughout the province. The proposal includes replacing all the current Victims Services Boards in Alberta with one regionalized Board in each of the four zones that align with the four current zones of the Alberta RCMP. Greenview Council recognizes that this would be a significant loss to our community and issued a letter to the Minister of Justice and the Solicitor General opposing the potential regionalization of Victims’ Services Units across Alberta.
