Council Highlights – February 28, 2023

Grande Cache Community Environmental Project to Move Forward
Council directed Administration to submit a proposal regarding the use of the $720,046.80 that has been allocated from Alberta Environment and Protected Areas (formerly Environment and Parks) from the former Foothills Forest Products beehive burner project to the upgrading of the Grande Cache Landfill to a Waste Transfer Station Project in the Hamlet of Grande Cache.

Greenview to a Letter of Support for Maskwa Medical Centre
The Maskwa Medical Centre (Canada) Inc. is a not-for-profit medical clinic with a volunteer board made up of businesses and focused citizens from the City of Grande Prairie, County of Grande Prairie, and MD of Greenview with a mission to provide public health care designed to meet the specific needs of the people of the Peace Country by connecting patients to the right expertise at the exact right time. Council directed Administration to provide a letter of support for the Muskwa Medical Centre regarding an approval for a Clinical Alternative Relationship Plan with Alberta Health Services.

Greenview Emergency Reception Centres Backup Power Supply
At the February 14, 2023, Regular Council Meeting, Councillor Ratzlaff made a notice of motion to investigate the necessity and feasibility of having a backup power supply to the Little Smoky Community Hall as it is an emergency reception centre. Council directed Administration to investigate the necessity and feasibility of having backup power supply units available to all Greenview emergency reception centre sites.

Public Engagement on Joint K-12 School Use with the Greenview Regional Multiplex Report
Council directed Administration to release the Greenview Regional Multiplex Joint Use School survey detailed report to the public.

Enhanced Level of Maintenance Service for Range Road 202 Bridge Hill
Council directed Administration to provide an enhanced level of service on Range Road 202 bridge hill near Sweathouse until June 1, 2023, due to extenuating circumstances caused by the Highway 747 bridge work restricted use.
