Greenview Approves Agricultural Education Grant Policy
Agricultural producers living within Greenview looking to start an agricultural operation or expand their existing operation, can now access education grant funds. Council approved Policy 6317 Agricultural Education Grant which will give a maximum of $1000 to eligible applicants. These funds can be used for any costs associated with attending educational events emphasizing the agriculture industry. Applicants must demonstrate financial need, an invested interest in agriculture, and trying to start, or expand their agricultural operation.
Rotary Club Grande Prairie Regional Airshow Gets Greenview Support
The Rotary Club of Grande Prairie is hosting the Grande Prairie Regional Airshow at the Grande Prairie Regional Airport on July 26 -28th, 2024. The event is planned to help raise funds for the D Coy Community Hub project. Council approved a sponsorship in the amount of $2,000.00 to the Rotary Club of Grande Prairie for hosting the Grande Prairie Regional Airshow on July 26-28th, 2024 in Grande Prairie, Alberta, with funds to come from the Community Services Sponsorship budget.
Greenview Accepts Report for Northern Zone 4 Surface Water Management Committee
Greenview Administration is actively engaged with Birch Hills County and other municipalities to address challenges related to provincially initiated drainage systems, a legacy from when these areas were governed as Improvement Districts by Alberta’s Department of Municipal Affairs. This long-standing issue concerns the ownership, management, and funding for 26 registered drainage ditches within Greenview, impacting maintenance and associated costs. To tackle these challenges collaboratively, a committee has been proposed to develop a strategy and seek provincial support. Council accepted the report on the Northern Zone 4 Drainage Ditch Committee for information, and Administration will continue to engage with the Northern Zone 4 Drainage Ditch Committee.
