Greenview Council Adopts Interim 2025 Operating and Capital Budgets
Council deliberated the 2025 budgets over three days in October and approved the 2025 interim operating budget and 2025 capital budget at the December 10, 2024, Regular Council Meeting. Budget 2025 will be finalized pending the completion of property assessment values, provincial requisitions collected on behalf of the Government of Alberta, and seniors’ funding requisitions. The 2025 Capital budget allows for infrastructure costs for roads, bridges, utilities, equipment, and buildings and includes $69.9 million in new commitments. The interim budget covers day-to-day operating expenses and allows projects to proceed until the final budget is approved in the spring. Council will also set tax rates in the spring of 2025.
Operating Grant Approved for Alberta Conservation Association
Greenview Council approved an operating grant in the amount of $5,000 to assist with expenses incurred in operating Dollar Lakes, located north of the Town of Valleyview within the municipality. Dollar Lakes uses lake aeration as a management technique used in typically shallow lakes to provide residents with recreational angling year-round.
Peace Country Beef Congress Receives $5000 Sponsorship
The 25th Annual Peace Country Beef Congress will take place at Evergreen Park in Grande Prairie on January 10 & 11, 2025. This annual networking event hosts cattle and farming-related products, producers and ranchers to network and learn about marketing livestock and other related items.
Greenview Council Supports Winter Family Fun Night at Ridgevalley School
Ridgevalley School is hosting a Winter Family Fun Night on December 18, 2024, open to all students, families, and community members. This family-friendly evening of activities will include a festival of trees, wagon rides, skating, games, and a bonfire. Greenview Council approved a sponsorship of $2500 to help purchase supplies and items required to help make this community-encompassing event successful.
