Greenview Adds Two Community Education Committees
Fox Creek and Valleyview have Community Education Committees (CECs) that meet monthly. These committees advise Northern Lakes College (NLC) on the region’s training and educational needs and ensure residents have access to quality local educational opportunities. Council has declared that Fox Creek and Valleyview CECs will be added to the list of committees that require council appointment in the future. These appointments will happen after a new council is elected on October 18, 2021.
Greenview Council Thanks Retiring Councillors
October 12 marked the last meeting for Councillors Dale Gervais of Little Smoky, Les Urness of Valleyview and Roxie Chapman of Ridgevalley/Crooked Creek/Sturgeon Heights. These three Councillors will not be running again in this year’s Municipal Election. Reeve Dale Smith and some other Councillors thanked these three for their service and commitment to the Municipal District of Greenview. Short biographies for each long-serving Councillor will be posted to the Greenview website as a tribute to their service.
Cancellations Announced for Upcoming Policy Review Committee Meetings
The upcoming Policy Review Committee Meeting (PRC) set for October 13, 2021, was cancelled. The pending Committee of the Whole Meeting in Grovedale set for October 19, 2021, was also cancelled. Both cancellations were routine due to insufficient policies needing review and conflicting schedules with the Municipal Election.
