Greenview provides municipal garbage collection services in Grande Cache for residential properties, Greenview Co-ops and Enterprises, and commercial customers. Collection schedules and service arrangements vary depending on service area and bin type.
Weekly Collection Schedule
Residential Collection
Tuesday: Phase 1, 2 & 5 Phase Map
Thursday: Phase 3, 4 & 6 Phase Map
If your scheduled collection day falls on a statutory holiday, pickup will occur the following weekday.
Each residential property within the hamlet is assigned one municipal garbage cart. If you do not currently have a cart, or require an additional cart for a fee, please contact Environmental Services to arrange service.
Greenview Co-ops & Enterprises
Collection is provided every Wednesday.
Service uses commercial-style bins and may differ from standard residential cart collection.
Commercial Collection
Collection is provided every Monday and Friday.
If a scheduled Co-op or commercial collection day falls on a statutory holiday, pickup will occur during the following week’s collection schedule.
Businesses requiring bin service changes or removals may contact Environmental Services.
Preparing Your Waste for Collection
Residents and businesses are asked to ensure that:
- Garbage carts or bins are placed curbside by 7:00 a.m. on collection day
- Wheels are facing the curb and lids are fully closed
- Waste is properly bagged and contained within the bin
- Access to bins is clear of parked vehicles or other obstructions
Collection may occur at any time between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., and pickup times may vary depending on routing and operational requirements.
Service changes, delays, or schedule updates will be communicated through Greenview’s website and official social media channels.
Accepted and Restricted Materials
Municipal garbage collection services are intended for household waste only.
The following materials are not accepted in municipal garbage carts or commercial waste bins:
- Hazardous waste or dangerous goods
- Fuel, oil, gas, coolants, or other liquid chemicals
- Medical or biomedical waste
- Soil, contaminated refuse, or heavy construction materials
- Mixed or unsorted construction debris
- Large furniture or mattresses
- Tires (including tires with rims)
- Railway ties
- Batteries
- Electronics
These materials must be taken to an approved disposal facility or managed through appropriate recycling or hazardous waste programs.
Battery recycling is available at all transfer stations, with additional household battery drop-off available at public service buildings.
Electronics recycling is available at transfer stations.
