Bylaws

Below are the most commonly requested and referenced Bylaws of the MD. There are many others (over 400 in total), most of which are land zoning amendments and road closures. The MD Council approves, amends and repeals (cancels) Bylaws at meetings. Some Bylaws cannot be passed unless they have been advertised and a public hearing is held to consider any concerns from the public about a proposed Bylaw. Bylaws are documents that help the MD govern its affairs by establishing standards, rules and regulations about various things that affect the public.

These Bylaws are provided for your convenience, however, it is recommended that you contact the MD office with any questions and/or for confirmation about which bylaws are currently in effect.
