NATIONAL LIFEGUARD INSTRUCTOR CLINIC
WHEN: Thursday & Friday, August 3 & 4, 2025
TIME: 8:30 – 4:30 pm
COST: $250.00 + GST
LOCATION: Boardroom and Pool
National Lifeguard Instructors are responsible for teaching and evaluating candidates participating in the National Lifeguard Pool, Waterpark, Waterfront and Surf programs. The National Lifeguard Instructor course prepares Instructors to apply level 3 leadership competencies and
strategies while teaching and evaluating.
NATIONAL LIFEGUARD
WHEN: August 6 – 8 & 11, 12
TIME: 8:30 – 4:30 pm (all 5 days)
COST: $360.00 + GST
PRE-REQUISITES: AB Workplace Approved Intermediate
(Standard) First Aid with CPR Level C, Bronze Cross (need not be current), Age 15+
LOCATION: Boardroom and Pool
The Lifesaving Societyโs National Lifeguard Certification builds on the fundamental skills, knowledge, fitness, judgement, and values taught in the prerequisite Lifesaving Society lifesaving certifications. The National Lifeguard program develops the basic lifeguarding skills, principles, and decision-making process to help lifeguards evaluate and adapt to different aquatic facilities and emergencies.
INTERMEDIATE (STANDARD) FIRST AID
WHEN: Monday & Tuesday, July 7 & 8
TIME: 8:30 – 4:30 pm both days
COST: $140.00 + GST
PRE-REQUISITES: Age 13+
LOCATION: Boardroom
In this Alberta Workplace approve first aid course you will learn the basics of first aid administration and resuscitation for all age groups. This program is not specific to aquatics. Upon completion, certifications are valid for 3 years.
BRONZE MEDALLION
WHEN: Monday & Tuesday, July 14 & 15
TIME: 8:30 – 4:30 pm both days
COST: $160.00 + GST
PRE-REQUISITES: Current CPR C or Higher, age 13+ unless candidate holds Bronze Star Certification
LOCATION: Boardroom and Pool
The Lifesaving Societyโs Bronze Medallion challenges the candidate both mentally and physically. Judgement, knowledge, skills, and fitness – the four components of water rescue – form the basis of Bronze Medallion Training. Candidates acquire the assessment and problem-solving
skills needed to make good decisions in, on, and around the water. Bronze Medallion is a pre-requisite for assistant lifeguard training in Bronze Cross.
BRONZE CROSS
WHEN: Wednesday – Friday, July 16 – 18
TIME: 8:30 – 4:30 pm all 3 days
COST: $160.00 + GST
PRE-REQUISITES: Current Intermediate (Standard) First Aid with CPR C, Bronze Medallion Certification (need not be current)
LOCATION: Boardroom and Pool
The Lifesaving Societyโs Bronze Cross begins the transition from lifesaving to lifeguarding and prepares candidates for responsibilities as an assistant lifeguard. Candidates strengthen and expand their lifesaving skills and begin applying active surveillance principles and techniques in aquatic facilities. Bronze Cross emphasizes the importance of teamwork and communication in preventing and responding to aquatic emergencies. Bronze Cross is a prerequisite for advanced training in the Societyโs National Lifeguard and leadership certification programs.
CANADIAN SWIM PATROL
WHEN: Monday – Thursday, July 14 – 17 (4 classes)
TIME: 1:00 – 2:30 pm
COST: $65.00
PRE-REQUISITES: Recommended completion of Swimmer 4 or higher or equivalent swim ability (roll into deep water, tread
1 min, and swim 50m and basic understanding of strokes)
LOCATION: Lane Pool

Rise to the challenge and get your Swim Patrol Awards – a perfect gift for anyone wanting to kick it up a notch. Swim Patrol has three levels: Rookie, Ranger, Star.
ADULT SWIMMING LESSONS
WHEN: Tuesdays & Thursday, July 8 – 31
TIME: 7:30 – 8:30 pm (8 classes)
COST: $85.00 + GST
PRE-REQUISITES: Age 16+
LOCATION: Leisure Pool
Swimmers learn front and back float, front and back glide with kick, front swim for 10 meters, shallow water entries and exits, and assisted deep water activities. This class is designed to help increase comfort in the water through basic movement and breathing skills. A great class for new or nervous swimmers.
