Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) Department
Green View Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) is a partnership between the MD of Greenview and the Town of Valleyview, offering many programs and services for youth, families, and adults, working to strengthen family and community life within Greenview.
Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) is governed by a provincial Act and Regulation. Services provided by FCSS must meet one of the following criteria to be eligible for FCSS funding:
- Be of a preventive nature that enhances the social well-being of individuals and families through promotion or intervention strategies provided at the earliest opportunity and do one or more of the following:
- Develop coping skills and become more resistant to crisis;
- Build awareness of social needs;
- Strengthen interpersonal and group relationships;
- Help people and communities to assume responsibility for decisions and actions which affect them;
- Stay active and engaged participants in the community.
Services provided under a program must not:
- Programs that provide for recreational needs or leisure time pursuits of individuals,
- Offer direct assistance, including money, food, clothing or shelter, to sustain an individual or family,
- Be primarily rehabilitative in nature, or
- Duplicate existing services in the community.

Green View Family and Community Support Services Board
The Green View FCSS Grants Program provides funding for preventive social programs that benefit MD of Greenview and Town of Valleyview residents. Applications for grants of $2,500 or more require a presentation to the FCSS Board. The program aims to enhance family and community stability, support individuals in identifying social needs, and promote voluntarism.

Community Resource Centre
Located in Valleyview and Grande Cache, the Green View Community Resource Centre provides residents with access to various support services through partnerships with the Town of Valleyview, MD of Greenview, and the Province of Alberta. Services are offered Monday through Friday, with specific hours for each location.
