Road Ban: Effective Thursday, July 9, 2026, at 1:00 pm, the Municipal District of Greenview will update its road bans.
Current Road Ban Order

Road Construction

Greenview accepts applications for new road construction and asphalt projects through a formal request process. Once a request is submitted, Administration evaluates the proposal in accordance with applicable policies and gathers information needed to assess its feasibility and potential benefits.

Factors considered may include the number of affected landowners, current and future transportation needs, drainage requirements, required infrastructure, connections to the existing road network, and the presence of pipelines or other utilities. A high-level cost estimate is also prepared to help identify potential project impacts and requirements.

Following the review, Administration presents the findings and recommendations to Council for consideration. Council uses this information to determine whether the project should proceed and whether a motion will be brought forward for approval.

Standards and specifications

Development Guidelines and Municipal Services Standards are used to provide the design standards framework for all municipal infrastructure and development projects. Developers are required to construct projects in accordance with the current standards unless otherwise approved by Council.

All road, bridge and drainage construction projects adhere to or surpass the standards established by Alberta Transportation. Any additional requirements are internal standards set by Greenview.
