Overview

Extension and Outreach are becoming increasingly important in the agricultural landscape; at the same time, funding for such programming is diminishing at the federal and provincial levels. Greenview has created and aims to maintain working relationships with producers and residents within Greenview to encourage better management practice adoption, positively impacting our water and land resources. By applying a collaborative model with a focus on both external and internal relationship building, extension and outreach programming aims to generate extension services for Greenview residents, improve inter-municipal and interdepartmental collaboration, increase access for Greenview residents to external non-profit services, and realize external and internal grant funding opportunities for residents to effectively promote enhanced management practices.

Greenview’s Agricultural Services Department has delivered the Shelterbelt Tree Seedling program since 2022. Each year, program information is launched in late winter/early spring and advertised on Greenview’s website and social media pages.
