Greenview Council Approves Tax Recovery Auction
The tax recovery process is a strictly legislated last resort mechanism municipalities use to collect outstanding property taxes. When property taxes remain unpaid for more than one year, a Tax Notification caveat is registered on the Land Title and notification is sent to the landowner and other interested parties advising them of the caveat. If the property tax arrears remain unpaid on March 31 of the following year, the Municipality may sell the property by public auction. The Municipality has one year from April 1 to place the property for sale by public auction.
After approving the reserve bid terms and conditions, Council set the Tax Recovery Public Auction date for Thursday, September 11, 2025, at 9:00 A.M. Mountain Standard Time, to be held in Council Chambers of the Valleyview Administration building, located at 4806 – 36 Avenue, for the sale of the listed properties as below:

Town of Valleyview Canada Day Celebration Sponsorship Approved
The Town of Valleyview is hosting its annual Canada Day celebration on July 1, 2025, in Valleyview, Alberta, and has requested a $1,500.00 sponsorship to assist with the event’s costs. Council approved a $1,500.00 sponsorship for the Canada Day celebration in Valleyview, Alberta, with funds to come from the 2025 Community Services Sponsorships & Donations budget.
Wanham Plowing Match Sponsorship Gets Greenview Approval
The COCO Plowing Match & Agricultural Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the Wanham community by managing and operating key local facilities, including the Museum, the arena and sports grounds, and the community hall. In addition to maintaining these community assets, the Society also plans and hosts various events to foster community spirit and engagement. The organization has hosted the Wanham Plowing Match since 1971 and has continued over the last 52 years as an event to celebrate the region’s history and tradition of farming and family. Council approved a sponsorship for $1,500.00 for the Wanham Plowing Match on June 20-22, 2025, in Wanham, Alberta, with funds to come from the 2025 Community Services Sponsorships and Donations budget.
