Look at the mountains surrounding Grande Cache! Ever dreamed of climbing one? Join a Grande Cache Recreation Centre Fitness leader on Tuesdays as we explore different trails around the community to train and build our hiking skills.
Dress appropriately for the weather – we hike rain, snow or shine. Hikes are in all terrains, and proper hiking footwear is needed. Spots are limited for this activity.
Then, over the summer, we’ll take on the challenge of summiting three mountains—yes, three! These climbs will be part of the Bronze level in the Passport to the Peaks program, which celebrates the breathtaking landscapes that encircle our community. When & where to meet:
Meet Grande Cache Recreation Centre Parking Lot (some hikes require you to drive to other locations, please bring a vehicle).
We will leave the parking lot at 5:30 pm sharp! Hiking times will vary (from 1 hour up).
Training Hikes:
Training Hikes are on Tuesdays, May 6 – August 26, 2025. NOTE: No Tuesday Training Hikes on July 1 or July 8.
Mountain Hikes:
Mountain Hikes will be on a Saturday or Sunday. Dates will be scheduled in May. Please note, these will be all day hikes!
