MD of Greenview Re-Elects Reeve and Deputy Reeve
Valleyview, Alberta
The Municipal District of Greenview is pleased to announce the re-election of Ward 9 Councillor Tyler Olsen as Reeve and Ward 8 Councillor Bill Smith as Deputy Reeve during the annual organizational meeting held on Tuesday, October 22, 2024.
Reeve Tyler Olsen, a long-standing resident of Grande Cache, brings a wealth of experience from his industrial and commercial trucking background. His commitment to the community extends beyond his role as Reeve, having served for over 21 years as a volunteer firefighter. He continues to serve as Captain of Greenview Fire-Rescue Services STN #33 -Grande Cache. Reeve Olsen’s deep dedication to public service is evident in both his firefighting role and his work as a Greenview Councillor.
“I am honoured to be re-elected as Reeve and thank my fellow Council members for their trust and support,” said Reeve Tyler Olsen. “We have made great strides over the past year, and I look forward to continuing our efforts to enhance economic development, improve infrastructure, and invest in the future of our Greenview communities.”
Deputy Reeve Bill Smith, now in his third term representing Grovedale, Ward 8, and fifth term as Deputy Reeve, brings considerable experience and local knowledge to his role. A member of a multi-generational ranching family, Bill’s deep connection to the area is matched by his work ethic. Before joining Greenview Council in 2013, he balanced running his family ranch with a successful career as a self-employed tradesman. His dual commitments to public service and ranching embody the hard work and dedication he brings to the Council.
“I am grateful for the continued confidence of my colleagues,” said Deputy Reeve Bill Smith. “It’s a privilege to serve alongside such a passionate team, and I look forward to another year of working together for the benefit of our communities.”
Greenview Council looks forward to a productive year under the leadership of Reeve Olsen and Deputy Reeve Smith, continuing its mission to enhance the quality of life and opportunities for all residents.
