2025 ELECTION INFORMATION FOR VOTERS:

How To Register?

All voters must be on the permanent Electors Registry. To register to vote or check to see if you are registered to vote, visit https://www.voterlink.ab.ca/

Who Can Vote?

You are eligible to vote in the Municipal Election if, on Election Day, you:

  • Are at least 18 years old
  • Are a Canadian citizen
  • Are a resident on Election Day:
    • Of the ward, to vote for Councillor; and
  • Provide one of the authorized pieces of identification. ID requirements for a municipal election are different than provincial and federal elections. Make sure you know what is accepted in order to vote.

Advance Vote: October 16, 2025 (8:00 am – 8:00 pm)

Election Day: October 20, 2025 (8:00 am -8:00 pm)

Special Ballots

New for 2025! A special ballot is available for eligible voters who are registered and listed on the Permanent Electors Register and unable to vote during Advance Voting or on Election Day.

An eligible voter must submit a request to the Returning Officer for a special ballot. Requests for special ballots can only be submitted from Friday, August 1, 2025, to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.

Important Dates for Special Ballots

How to Request a Special Ballot

Eligible voters requesting a special ballot are required to make the request using the Request for Special Ballot Package (Form 22). The request cannot be made by another individual on the eligible voter’s behalf.

You can submit Form 22 using one of the following methods:

  1. Online Application Form
  2. Email
  3. Phone
  4. In Person
  5. By Mail
    • Download Form 22
    • Mail the completed Form 22 and a copy of the required identification* to:

Submit Your Completed Special Ballot

Special ballot packages will be issued to eligible applicants after Nomination Day (September 22, 2025). Step-by-step instructions will be included in the special ballot package.

Eligible voters must submit the completed special ballot package to the Returning Officer no later than 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 20, 2025 (Election Day).

Please Note: Any special ballot packages that are incorrect or incomplete, or received after 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 20, 2025, will not be accepted or counted.
