Residents of the Municipal District of Greenview have the opportunity to take part in this exciting pilot program, which offers an innovative solution to reduce food waste at the source and transform it into a nutrient-rich soil amendment!
Why should I participate?
Did you know that up to 50% of household waste is composed of food waste? By helping your community address food waste, you are supporting environmental initiatives while reducing your carbon footprint.
What is required of me?
Not much! Purchase a FoodCycler at the highly discounted cost, track your use once a week for a period of 12 weeks and then answer a brief exit survey.
How it works:
- Purchase your unit:
- FoodCycler Eco 3 (3.5L): $50.00 + tax (regular priced at $600.00)
- FoodCycler Eco 5 (5L): $150.00 +tax (regular priced at $800.00)
- Pilot Duration:
- Divert your food waste using the FoodCycler for a period of 12 weeks. Track the amount of waste you divert with a tracking sheet (to be provided to you when you purchase a unit).
- End Date:
- Fill out a closing survey (to be provided by Greenview’s Environmental Services) about your experience using the FoodCycler.
