Pierre Grey’s Lakes

This popular location was named after local fur trader/ trapper Pierre Grey, who ran a trading post at the series of small lakes bearing his name today. The remnants of his trading post from the late 1800s can still be seen today.

Located 33 km south on Highway 40, Pierre Grey’s Lakes is a string of 5 lakes full of Rainbow Trout, Brook Trout and Bull Trout. Excellent for canoeing, kayaking or boating (electric motors only), Pierre Grey’s Lakes offer a quiet escape for one to also enjoy camping and hiking or winter activities such as snowshoeing or cross country skiing.

Effective Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at 10:00 am, the Municipal District of Greenview No. 16 will update its road bans. All Greenview gravel roads, including the Forestry Trunk Road, will be at 75% axle weight in the absence of frost conditions – and at 100% axle weight during frost conditions until further notice.
