Kakwa River Provincial Recreation Area

Located 90 km south of Grande Prairie on Highway 40, this area offers seven non-serviced campsites equipped with fire pits and picnic tables, available on a first-come, first-served basis. Amenities include garbage/recycling containers, an outhouse, a small parking area, and a non-potable water pump. The site is ideal for fishing, hiking, and horseback riding, with a camping fee of $25 per night. The area is typically accessible from May to October, weather permitting.
