Greenview to Proclaim the Week of September 15-21, 2025, as Rail Safety Week
Administration received correspondence from Canadian National Railway (CN) requesting that Greenview Council proclaim September 15-21, 2025, as Rail Safety Week in the Municipal District of Greenview. This initiative aligns with National Rail Safety Week across Canada. Council approved Greenview’s proclamation of the week of September 15-21, 2025, as Rail Safety Week.
Little Smoky Ski Area Receives Donation In-Kind
The Little Smoky Ski Area is a winter recreation destination in our region, offering outdoor recreational opportunities to families, schools, and sports enthusiasts. Its current fuel tank needed to be replaced to ensure the continued safety and efficiency of its operation. Greenview Council awarded a donation in-kind of a fuel tank to replace the aging one they currently have.
Greenview Council Awards Capital Community Grant to DeBolt & District Agricultural Society
The DeBolt Ag Society is a non-profit that owns and maintains facilities in the DeBolt area, including the Gunby Ranch Golf Club. The Golf Club is a popular dining facility for golfers, community members and visitors. The current kitchen requires upgrades to meet the guests’ needs and improve safety and functionality. Greenview Council supported this project by approving funding of $10,000 to assist with this project.
NWP Presidents’ Ball Receives Support from Greenview Council
The Northwestern Polytechnic Foundation is led by a board of volunteers who help to improve career and industry training for students in our region. This annual event raises money to provide hands-on learning, state-of-the-art equipment and essential student services. Greenview Council approved a $5000 sponsorship for this event.
Greenview Council Sponsors WESCAR 150 Late Model Special Championship Event
The Peace Area Motor Sports Association (PAMSA) is hosting the WESCAR Late Model Special Championship race on September 13 at the Hythe Motor Speedway. Many Greenview residents are members of PAMSA, and this family-friendly event is open to the public.
Resource Centre for Suicide Prevention Receives Support from Greenview Council
Greenview Council approved $5000 in sponsorship funding for the 15th Annual Chair Extraordinaire event on September 27, 2025. This fundraising event raises awareness and support for mental health while raising funds to directly support programs that provide essential services to those in need.
Greenview Sponsors Nitehawk Fundraiser
Nitehawk Year-Round Adventure Park is hosting the 29th Annual Comedy Night Fundraiser at Bonnett’s Energy Centre on September 20, 2025. This evening of laughs supports their non-profit ski hill, with all proceeds going towards facility improvements. Greenview Council approved a $1000 sponsorship and a $500 donation in kind for this event.
