Big Horn Golden Age Club Gets Greenview Support for Facility Enhancement
The Big Horn Golden Age Club is in the Hamlet of Grande Cache and welcomes community members aged 50+ to their organization. The Club offers seniors a broad range of social events, health, fitness and educational activities, and is planning to move forward with a facility and accessibility ramp renovation capital projects. Council directed Administration to enter into an agreement with the Big Horn Golden Age Club for a capital grant of up to $550,000.00 towards matching funds for a Community Facility Enhancement Program Grant for Phase II of the facility renovation project in addition to an additional capital grant for up to $17,000 for the installation of an accessibility ramp, with funds to come from the 2025 Community Services Grants budget.

Tender Awarded for 2025 Asphalt Maintenance
Annual asphalt maintenance improves the life expectancy of road infrastructure. Annual repairs on asphalt are a cost-effective alternative to a full overlay, while still maintaining well-built infrastructure that is sustainable, viable and contributes to quality of life. The tender was posted on the Alberta Purchasing Connection December 13, 2024, closing January 13, 2025. Administration received three proposals for evaluation, with all meeting the mandatory requirements for consideration. Council awarded the Asphalt Maintenance Contract for 2025 to Knelson Sand & Gravel Ltd., in the amount of $423,000.00 plus GST, with funds to come from the approved 2025 Asphalt Operational Budget.

Tender Awarded for 2025 Crack Seal and Line Painting
Crack Sealing is part of annual asphalt maintenance, and it improves the longevity of the road infrastructure.  Annual painting on roadways is important for the safety of motorists. The tender was posted on the Alberta Purchasing Connection December 16, 2024, closing January 13, 2025. Administration received one proposal for evaluation, which met the mandatory requirements for consideration. Council awarded the Crack Seal & Line Painting 2025 to AAA Striping & Seal Coating Service, in the amount of $414,004.77 plus GST, with funds to come from the approved 2025 Asphalt Operational Budget.

Tender Awarded for Overlay for Forestry Trunk Road (KM 0–5)
Administration proceeded with the preliminary engineering and completed the full detailed design for the Forestry Trunk Road Overlay (KM 0-5), as per the approved budget in 2024. The scope of the project includes cold milling asphalt pavement and asphalt pavement overlay for approximately 5.0 kms. The tender was posted on the Alberta Purchasing Connection December 10, 2024, closing January 10, 2025. Administration received three proposals for evaluation, with all three meeting the mandatory requirements for consideration. Council awarded the Forestry Trunk Road Overlay (KM 0-5), from Hwy 43 South to KM 5, to Knelsen Sand & Gravel Ltd. for the total construction cost of $2,072,904.87 (plus GST), with funds to come from the approved 2025 Capital Budget Project PV24004.

Effective April 15, 2025, at 3:00 pm, a Fire Advisory has been issued for the areas of the MD of Greenview outside of the Forest Protection Area.
