Greenview Advances Municipal Development Plan and Seeks Public Members for Steering Committee

Council approved the first reading of Bylaw 26-1013 to establish a Municipal Development Plan Steering Committee to guide the upcoming review and update of Greenview’s Municipal Development Plan. The Steering Committee will provide strategic oversight and support a coordinated, municipality-wide planning process that reflects current growth, legislative requirements, and community priorities.

Council also directed Administration to advertise for public members to serve on the Steering Committee, supporting meaningful community involvement in the long-range planning process. Applications from interested residents will be accepted until April 22, 2026.

Grande Cache Recreation Centre Becomes the Grande Cache Multiplex

Council approved the recommendation from Administration to change the name of the Grande Cache Recreation Centre to the Grande Cache Multiplex, reflecting the facility’s expanded role with the addition of the new fieldhouse. The updated name recognizes the site as a full-service recreation hub and aligns with naming conventions used at other Greenview recreation facilities.

Council also selected signage option 2.2, with updated exterior signage to be incorporated into the fieldhouse construction project and future materials revised through regular operational updates.

Greenview Authorizes Disposal of Surplus Technology Equipment to Non-Profits

Council approved Administration’s recommendation to dispose of surplus technology and related equipment identified in the 2026 Schedule of Surplus Assets, in accordance with Policy 9100 Disposal of Assets.

Eligible non-profit organizations will have the first opportunity to request available items through a public posting process. Remaining assets may be made available to staff, with any unsold items proceeding to auction. This approach supports responsible asset management while recovering residual value where possible.

Update on DeBolt Creek Stabilization

Council has directed Administration to obtain engineering design options for portions of DeBolt Creek within the Hamlet of DeBolt, focusing on areas where bank erosion may pose a risk to nearby infrastructure. The work will concentrate on Phase 2 of the previously presented phasing plan and will explore mitigation approaches, including a buried structure option, in compliance with all required Provincial and Federal regulations.

To support this work, Council approved a $60,000 amendment to the 2026 Capital Budget for the DeBolt Creek Stabilization project, with funding to come from the New Capital Reserve. Administration will return to Council with detailed design options and associated costs for further consideration before any construction proceeds.
