Sweathouse Community Hall Gets Greenview Support
The Sweathouse Community Centre is planning to create RV Parking stalls behind the community hall. Gravel will be required to complete this project, so the centre has applied for a capital grant. Council approved a capital grant of $9,000.00 to the Sweathouse Community Centre for the purchase of gravel for RV parking stalls, with funds coming from the 2025 Community Impact Grants budget.
Sponsorship Approved for Grande Cache Transition House Society Golf Tournament
The Grande Cache Transition House Society operates under the Alberta Council of Women’s Shelters. This registered charity offers short-term emergency shelter for women who are fleeing violent situations and provides women with information, education, support and referrals for those experiencing violence. Their first annual “Heart on the Green: A Tournament for Hope, Healing & Happiness” Golf Tournament was held on August 23, 2025, at the Grande Cache Golf and Country Club. Council approved a sponsorship of $2,000.00 for the Grande Cache Transition House Society’s golf tournament held on August 23 at the Grande Cache Golf and Country Club, with funds to come from the 2025 Community Services Sponsorships and Donations budget.
Community Development Initiative (CDI) Agreements Reviewed
Greenview has a long-standing history of supporting the Towns of Fox Creek and Valleyview through Community Development Initiative (CDI) funding agreements. These agreements are designed to enhance regional service delivery, support shared infrastructure, and promote a high quality of life for residents within and beyond municipal boundaries.
As part of Greenview’s ongoing commitment to intermunicipal collaboration and rural-urban partnerships, revised CDI Agreements have been developed to better align with long-term sustainability goals. Council reviewed both agreements and engaged in robust discussions. The next step will see the agreements presented to the Councils of Fox Creek and Valleyview for further review and discussion prior to formal adoption.
