Greenview Extends RMA Convention Invitations to Regional Municipal Neighbours
The mayors or delegates from the Towns of Fox Creek and Valleyview will be invited to attend the 2026 Rural Municipalities of Alberta (RMA) Fall Convention with Greenview. Council directed Administration to extend the invitations as an opportunity to strengthen communication and working relationships with neighbouring municipalities.
Participation in the convention provides an opportunity for regional representatives to connect on shared priorities, future projects and matters affecting their communities.
2026 Post Secondary Scholarships Awarded
Greenview will provide $28,000 in Post Secondary scholarships to 12 eligible Greenview students through the 2026 Community Services Post Secondary Scholarships budget. Funding includes $25,000 for 10 students enrolled in degree programs and $3,000 for two students pursuing trades, diploma or certificate programs.
Recipients were selected in accordance with Greenview’s Post Secondary Scholarships Policy, which considers factors such as financial need, community involvement, academic achievement and, for trades and diploma applicants, work experience. Degree recipients will each receive $2,500, while trades and diploma recipients will each receive $1,500.
Greenview Applies to Host Land Use Planning Intern
Greenview will apply to host a Land Use Planning Intern through Alberta Municipal Affairs’ 2027–2028 Municipal Internship Program. The 18-month placement would give a recent post-secondary graduate practical experience and mentorship within Greenview’s Planning and Development Department while helping support the department’s workload.
If Greenview’s application is successful, the Province will provide $62,500 toward the internship, with remaining employment costs considered through the 2027 and 2028 budget processes.
