Alberta Launches New Online Portal to Improve Water Management Communication in the Province

Alberta launches new online portal

Alberta Environment and Protected Areas (EPA) has launched a new online tool, the Regulatory Dialogue Portal, to enhance communication and responsiveness around regulatory approvals related to water and environmental protection.

This platform supports approvals under the Water Act and the Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act (EPEA). It directly responds to Resolution 6-23, passed by Albertaโ€™s Agricultural Service Boards, calling for more vigorous enforcement and better communication on water management concerns.

What You Can Expect from the Regulatory Dialogue Portal:

  • Responses within three business days
  • Submit questions or concerns about regulatory approvals
  • Greater transparency and accountability

The new portal complements existing tools like the Digital Regulatory Assurance System (DRAS) by focusing on open dialogue and public feedback. Itโ€™s available to all Albertans, including municipalities, landowners, and agricultural producers.
