If you’re thinking about putting your name forward for Council in the upcoming municipal election, this Pre-Election Candidate Workshop is designed for you.
This is not a public forum — it’s a focused session for individuals who are genuinely considering running for elected office and want to understand what it truly entails.
Workshop Highlights:
- What it means to serve as an elected official
- The time commitment, roles, and responsibilities of Council members
- Expectations around conduct, decision-making, and governance
- The do’s and don’ts of life on Council
- How to navigate the Council-Administration relationship
- Tools to help you decide if running is right for you — and to be better prepared if you do
📌 The workshop will take place on one day between June 23–26, 2025
📍 Open to potential candidates in:
- The Municipal District of Greenview
- The Town of Valleyview
