As part of the Action Centre’s Recreation Energy Conservation Program, the MD of Greenview completed the installation of a TEDOM Combined Heat and Power Generating system.

This unit, housing a natural gas generator capable of providing 144 kW of power to the Recreation Centre, will provide supplied electricity to the Facility.

The generating unit is designed to operate at high temperatures and provide not only electricity to offset or sole supply to the recreation centre depending on demand but also provides offcast heat from the high power engine designed to move the flow of glycol through the generator and back to the facilities main triple boiler system.  This design provides pre-heating potential to the facility thereby reducing the amount of consumption required by the boilers to maintain a 60-degree constant temperature supply to the Recreation Centre.
