Valleyview, Alberta

Greenview Awards Crack Sealing, Spray Patch, and Line Painting Contract for 2022
Line painting in the Hamlet of Grande Cache is completed through the Operations Department annually and includes crosswalks, stop lines, parking lines and bullnoses and curbs and the parking lot lines at the Tourism Centre, Central Park and the Recreational Centre. In the past, overlays and chip seals were completed on some of the roads through the capital budget when deemed necessary. Although this has been working, it is not an effective maintenance practice for yearly crack sealing. Every year cracks get larger and are unable to be successfully filled by crack sealing. Therefore, Administration felt it was warranted to include spray patching to maintain our infrastructure feasibly within operational means. Council moved to award the 2022 Crack Sealing, Spray Patch and Line Painting Project to AAA Striping & Seal Coating Service with funds to come from the 2022 Operational Budget in the amount of $931,666.95.

Grande Cache Institution Pedestrian Pathway Project to Move Forward
Greenview Administration has finalized an agreement with Correctional Services Canada representatives and will proceed with constructing a Grande Cache Institution Pedestrian Path in the 2022 construction season. The project will consist of a 2m (6.5feet) asphalt walking path that will start from Berge Drive along Hoppe Avenue to the Correctional Centre. Council moved to award the Township Road 701A Overlay Project to Knelsen Sand and Gravel for $2,246,276.28 plus GST with funds to come from the 2022 capital budget PV22002.
