Greenview to Enter into Agreement with West Yellowhead Regional Waste Management Authority
In 2019 it was determined that the Grande Cache Landfill was nearing its capacity, and due to land restraints, Administration has been exploring the conversion of the landfill into a transfer station, but in doing so, Greenview would be required to truck waste to a nearby landfill. Multiple alternatives have been looked at, and this option has been deemed the most cost-effective. The draft waste study also supported this option and determined that West Yellowhead Regional Landfill in Hinton would be the closest and most economically feasible. Council directed Administration to enter into an agreement with the West Yellowhead Regional Waste Management Authority to facilitate the diversion of solid waste from the Hamlet of Grande Cache with a capital investment of $270,000.00, funds to come from the 2022 Capital Budget.

Sale of Surplus Fire Truck to Help Rebuild Fire Brigade for Foothills Forest Products
Greenview Fire-Rescue Services has a surplus Fire Truck that has been identified for disbursement. Unit F9 is a 1997 GMC Pumper that has not been in service for five years. An expression of interest letter was received from the Foothills Forest Products regarding Unit F9, as Foothills is currently rebuilding their fire brigade and they don’t have a functional fire truck. This fire truck would be an essential resource for their newly formed fire brigade and could also serve as a mutual aid resource for Grande Cache Station #33. Council authorized Administration to sell surplus Fire Truck F9 to Foothills Forest Products, located in the Grande Cache area, for the appraised value.
