Greenview Dates to Reopen Day-Use Areas and Campgrounds

Johnson Park, Moody’s Crossing and Kakwa River will open on June 1, 2020

Please read and comply with the information below:

  • Sites will be open at 50% capacity
  • First come, first serve
  • You MUST camp in a self-contained unit and use your own functioning bathroom facilities
  • Tenting is NOT permitted
  • 1 RV per site
  • All shared use facilities such as bathrooms, playgrounds, picnic areas, group camping sites and cookhouses will remain closed
  • Fire ban in effect – NO FIRES ALLOWED. Visit albertafirebans.ca for the latest updates

Promoting COVID-19 prevention measures are in effect following Alberta Health Services recommendations:

  • Please do not enter the campground if you are experiencing symptoms including cough, fever, shortness of breath, runny nose or sore throat that are not related to a pre-existing illness or health condition, or are otherwise required to isolate or quarantine
  • Bring a cloth or sheet to cover the picnic table in your site before using it
  • Co-mingling of campsites is NOT PERMITTED to ensure safe social distancing
  • Bring alcohol-based sanitizer ​recommended for hand hygiene when soap and water are not available
  • Physical distancing requirements must be adhered to at all times and observe gathering restrictions by staying in own campsite

Greenview recognizes the impact that outdoor recreation has on our mental well-being and has prepared a plan for the reopening of day-use areas and campgrounds, with restrictions and guidelines in place as per Alberta Health Services and the Province of Alberta guidelines. The safety and well-being of our residents and communities will remain our top priority and therefore the implementation of preventative measures will be in place at each site. 

The reopening of the following Day-Use areas will take place on May 11, 2020 and the specific guidelines are as follows:

    1. Physical Distancing practices must be adhered to at all times
    2. Washrooms will be closed to the public
    3. Cookhouses will be closed to the public
  • Smoky Sunset Landing
  • Johnson Park
  • Moody’s Crossing
  • Southview PRA
  • Grande Cache Lake
  • Grovedale Fish Pond

The reopening of the following Campgrounds will take place on June 1, 2020 and the specific guidelines are as follows:

    1. Physical Distancing practices must be adhered to at all times
    2. Sites will operate at 50% capacity (as per provincial guidelines)
    3. Washrooms will be closed to the public
    4. Cookhouses will be closed to the public

  • Grande Cache Municipal Campground (dependant on AHS approval) Reservation system can take reservations starting May 19, 2020

Greenview is sorry to report that Swan Lake Road is still currently closed due to road construction.  There is currently NO ACCESS to Swan Lake.  We will update as soon as the road is open to the public again.  Sorry for the inconvenience.
