2019 Aggregate Supply RFQ
Greenview Operations requested quotes for providing gravel for use in the Forestry Trunk Road, RidgeValley, New Fish Creek, Valleyview, Little Smoky, and Sunset House so that gravel will be available to utilize in stockpiling and road gravelling programs in 2020/2021. Council has agreed to purchase gravel for the following areas:
• Forestry Trunk Road – Timber Pro Logging Ltd.
• Ridgevalley, New Fish Creek, Valleyview, and Sunset House areas – Glacier Rock Resources
• Little Smoky area – Knelsen Sand and Gravel
Internet Satisfaction Survey Results
Administration recently conducted a Residential Internet Satisfaction Survey with respondents from Staff and Council. Council accepted the report for information.
2019 Stakeholder Outreach Sporting Clay Shoot Report
Greenview hosted the annual Stakeholder Outreach Sport Clay Shoot event at Shot Shell Shooting Range on Thursday, September 12, 2019. This Sporting Clay Shoot Tournament was held to raise funds for Food Banks in Fox Creek, Valleyview, Grande Prairie, and Grande Cache. The event raised $36,240.00 in donations from generous sponsors who contributed $30,500.00, and cash donations of $2,940.00 received on the day of the event. Council accepted the report with results of the 2019 Stakeholder Outreach Sport Clay Shoot fundraiser for information. Council approved to host the next Sporting Clay Shoot on September 10, 2020.
Valleyview Enhancement Society Christmas Gala – Sponsorship Request
Council approved sponsorship in the amount of $1,000.00 to the Valleyview Enhancement Society for the 2019 Christmas Gala, which includes seating for eight (8) people at the event, with funds to come from the Community Services Miscellaneous Grant.
Reallocation transfer of Funds to Accommodate Additional Aggregate
Council authorized Administration to transfer $300,000.00 from the Capital Road Construction budget to be reallocated to the Operational budget. In 2019, Operations West completed approximately 64 Km of re-gravelling on the Forestry Trunk Road as well as additional patch gravelling in problem areas, exhausting the $900,000.00. To complete the re-gravelling between Km 100-120 and to spot additional gravel locations particularly between Km 90-100, Administration requested the reallocation of $300,000.00.
Shand Trailer Park – Trailer Disposal Request
Council will take no action on the requests from Mr. Alan Ritter with the requests/arguments to waive outstanding taxes, penalties and fees, as well as the disposal costs and procedures for uninhabitable properties – immediately and for future considerations.
Suicide Prevention Resource Centre 9th Annual Chair Extraordinaire Gala – Sponsorship Request
Council approved to sponsor the Suicide Prevention Resource Centre 9th Annual Chair Extraordinaire Gala on October 19, 2019, with a $2,500.00 sponsorship.
