The departments are located in Fox Creek, Valleyview, DeBolt, Grovedale and Grande Cache. The Fox Creek, Valleyview and Grande Cache Departments are operated by their respective municipalities while DeBolt and Grovedale are completely operated by the M.D. The departments are composed of volunteers with the exception of a full time Chief in charge of the Grande Cache Department.
ALL DEPARTMENTS MAY BE ACCESSED FOR AN EMERGENCY SITUATION BY DIALING 911.

The levels of service vary within the urban departments and a level of service for the M.D.’s departments has recently been adopted. These services include structural firefighting, medical response, vehicle extrication, ice rescue and dangerous goods awareness. The DeBolt and Grovedale departments include the National Fire Protection Association 1001 (firefighter professional qualifications) standard as one of their bench marks for training. All five departments work together in conjunction with other departments from within the County of Grande Prairie, the M.D. of Big Lakes, Birch Hills County, M.D of Spirit River, Saddle Hills County and the M.D. of Smoky River to maximize training availability.
As indicated, the majority of members for all departments are volunteer. If interested in volunteering with one of the urban departments please contact the applicable town office. For both the DeBolt and Grovedale Departments, please contact Protective Services at the Administration office.
