Finding Our Voices is a self-esteem workshop for women.  Finding Our Voices is offered to anyone who would like to work on and improve their self esteem.

 

Balance

Balance- restorative yoga for seniors, people with disabilities/ disease and post-surgery recovery.
This program increases strength and flexibility for fall prevention.

 

Volunteer Income Tax Program is a tax preparation program which is run by volunteers.  The program is provided to qualifying low-income seniors and students.

Mother-Daughter Circle is a program promoting healthy sustainable bonds between mothers and daughters during the transitional years from girlhood to young womanhood.

Growth Circle is an 8 week course offered to women who have left, or are in the process of leaving, an abusive situation.  Topics included in these sessions include understanding family violence, belief and thinking patterns, anger, depression and anxiety, boundaries, support systems and more.

Green View FCSS Baby Book Bags is a partnership between  Alberta Health Services, and the Valleyview Municipal Library.  FCSS role in this partConnornership is to purchase and compile bags containing books and other resources which are then delivered by Alberta Health Services to families with newborns.

Baby Box University-  Green View FCSS is a distributor for the Baby Box University.  The Baby Box is provided at no charge and is a starter kit for a baby’s first year of life.  The box includes diapers, bath products and other newborn accessories and the box itself has a mattress, which for many, serves as baby’s first bed.  The Baby Box is credited with helping Finland achieve one of the world’s lowest infant mortality rates.

Home Support Program-  The Green View FCSS Home Support Program provides light housekeeping and meal preparation for individuals whose ability to manage on their own is limited.

Older Adult Information Day-  This annual event focuses on programs and services available to the senior and older adult population.  Event specifics vary as to the need and interest and a variety of guest speakers provide presentations on topics such as Provincial and Federal Subsidy Programs, health care issues, and elder abuse.

Compass for Caregivers is a 9 module program that gives caregivers the tools to better manage the unique demands and challenges they face as caregivers.

Senior Supports-  Assistance is provided in filling out forms, gaining access to federal and provincial supports, Alberta Supports, advocacy etc.

Wheels for Meals-  Green View FCSS delivers meals to town of Valleyview residents.  This program is in partnership with Red Willow Lodge, who prepares and coordinates meals, while FCSS staff carry out the delivery.
