SERVICE CANADA MOBILE OUTREACH CLINIC: 

Service Canada Mobile Outreach Clinic is coming to Green View FCSS on May 29th.  Please see Service Canada Poster for more details of what services will be available during that visit.  It is not necessary to pre-book an appointment.  Services will be available between 2pm- 4pm.

CANADA REVENUE AGENCY OUTREACH PROGRAM:

Sandra Paul, Regional Outreach Officer for Canada Revenue Agency Outreach Program is coming to Green View FCSS on June 7 from 9:30am-noon. Please see CRA mobile outreach  poster for more details of what topics will be covered during that visit.

 

HEART- a domestic violence initiative formed in 2014.  HEART stands for Health, Education & Action in Relationships Team.  Stakeholders include RCMP, Victims Assistance for Valleyview and Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation, Child and Family Services, and Green View FCSS.  The HEART Committee hosted their 3rd Domestic Violence Conference on May 1st and 2nd, 2019 at the Memorial Hall in Valleyview.

Presentation topics included addiction, pornography, stalking, animal abuse and survivors of childhood sexual abuse.  Check out the full details provided in the media release on May 1, 2019.  2019 HEART Conference Media Release

 

Volunteer Income Tax Program: Green View FCSS is seeking dedicated volunteers to assist with our Volunteer Income Tax Program. The volunteers would need to attend a one day training. Anyone interested in volunteering can contact FCSS. This program provides the service of free tax returns to people who qualify; including seniors, students, low-income individuals/families, Income Support and AISH recipients. Other people may be eligible.  Clinics are offered in March and April of each year. Tax appointments during the program, can be booked by calling FCSS at 780-524-7603 or by stopping at the Green View FCSS Community Resource Center in person. 

 

Interagency: Green View FCSS hosts a monthly Interagency on the first Tuesday of each month at 9:30 a.m. at our office. The purpose of these meetings is to provide an opportunity for various community organizations and individuals to come together and share information about trends, challenges, programs and events.

Older Adult Information Day- This annual event focuses on programs and services available to the senior and older adult population.  This event occurs in Valleyview and Grovedale, Alberta.
