Sturgeon Lake Area Hazard Reduction Burning

Hazard Reduction Burning in Sturgeon Lake Area Begins April 10

Alberta Agriculture and Forestry will be doing hazard reduction burning in the Sturgeon Lake area beginning Wednesday April 10th which will continue for the next two weeks. This spring burning will lessen the risk of man-caused fires that may threaten homes and community infrastructure. Hazard reduction burning is planned to continue into this weekend weather permitting. This project will provide an opportunity for both agencies to work together and cross train; helping to prepare for future wildfire incidents.
